The Venue ... Mantells is the site of Auckland's former telephone exchange built about 90 years ago in Mt Eden in conjunction with Mt Eden Post Office [now "de Post" pub]. Inside Mantells four walls a large section of the roof has been removed to create a spacious courtyard containing 50 year old Phoenix palms. Wide verandas and an open fire complete the enchanting setting. Inside there is a large dining room, open kitchen, two private spaces and gracious, high-ceiling lounge furnished with an eclectic mix of wonderful antique pieces and sleek modern furniture. |
